What if I told you that “Going Green”, is often synonymous with “Saving Money”? No Brainer. Being environmentally-friendly is just good economics, in our homes, on our budgets, and most importantly, with our Earth.

Here are 6 Green Practices you know about, but should be reminded of!

Shower instead of taking Baths

By taking showers instead of baths, you will save for water then you could imagine! Better yet, double-down on sustainable living by having a bucket in your shower compartment. The bucket can be used to collect water whilst you are shampoing, waiting for the water to heat up, etc. Congratulations! You just saved more water!

Remember to Unplug

Another thing we all know, but fail to take heed of, is that our appliances still consume energy when plugged in, even if you switch it off. Yes, all electrical appliances, LapTops, Phones, Rumbas. And on the plus side, the chances of your house burning down has now also lowered!

Plan your Meals

Everybody has a friend that is a “Health Nut”. Get them to help you with your meal plans. By prepping your meals beforehand, you would know exactly how much groceries you need so you can minimize waste and save funds! It also saves you the hassle of deciding what to cook everytime you come home from a long day of saying “Yes Boss!”.

Bring your own tote bags

Speaking of groceries, remember to bring your eco-friendly bags when doing your weekly grocery runs. Ditch using plastic bags and contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle. Be like your favourite celebrities, Naomi Watts and Anne Hathaway, by bringing tote bags back in style!

Support Local Farmers

Reduce your carbon footprint by supporting local existing food producers in your area. Not only do you get fresher produces with more nutrients, you are helping grow the local economy! Wouldn’t it be nice to know who and how your food is grown?

Sell your Junk

Minimize your eco footprint and get on board the minimalist bandwagon by clearing out the clutter in your home. Make some extra cash on the side from selling these unwanted goods and avoid being called a “Hoarder”! Crowd favourite, Wikipedia, defines sustainable living as “... a lifestyle that attempts to reduce an individual's or society's use of the Earth's natural resources and personal resources”

Now that you have been reminded of these easy-to-implement tips for being more ‘Green’, rally the troops, and let's all take a step forward towards a more sustainable lifestyle.
